Lands ministry rolls out new "busuulu" regulations in pilot project
The Lands Ministry has rolled out new annual ground rent measures, or Busuulu regulations, in a pilot project intended to ensure harmony in land transactions. This comes months after the government authorized the establishment of a centralized bank SACCO account for tenants to deposit ground rent, mainly targeting absentee landlords or those refusing to accept payments from Bibanja landholders.
