Law society criticizes delays in human rights complaints, calls for UHRC's independence
The Uganda Law Society has condemned the persistent delays in the hearing and determination of complaints filed at the Uganda Human Rights Commission. According to the Society, the backlog of cases is causing delays, with numerous cases pending for extended periods, which hinders the delivery of justice. They added that the Uganda Human Rights Commission should operate with full independence, free from external influences.
