Lawyer petitions court to bar MPs from serving as ministers
A lawyer, Michael Aboneka, has filed a petition seeking an order from the Constitutional Court to stop the President from appointing Members of Parliament as ministers, arguing that it distorts the principle of separation of powers and undermines effective and independent service delivery. He says that when an MP is appointed as a minister, they should resign their parliamentary seat to serve effectively.
