Martyrs’ Day: Over 40 arrested for petty crimes
Police say they have arrested more than 40 people, mostly on charges of attempting to steal property from pilgrims at Namugongo. Among those who lost their belongings were individuals in possession of land titles, prompting police to question why such valuable items were being carried. By news time, police reported that 20 children had been separated from their parents and guardians in Namugongo. However, security officials stated that the overall situation remained calm and safe. This occurred during the Martyrs’ Day celebrations.
