MPs say free meals in schools will improve enrollment in schools
The Great Lakes Region Parliaments are calling on member states to develop a plan to provide meals to learners enrolled in government schools under the free education program. The call came during a committee on gender, social, and other humanitarian issues of the Forum of Parliaments of the International Conference on the Great Lakes region in Kampala. Speaking to NTV, the Secretary General of the forum Onyango Kakoba says government needs to prioritize this in order to reduce the number of school dropouts in almost all member states.
