Tree planters urge NFA boost amid Opit Forest revival
Tree planters across the Northern Region have asked the Central Government to empower the National Forestry Authority (NFA) to improve service delivery to the Ugandan population. The tree planters, under their umbrella group Collaborative Forest Management, praised the NFA for reviving the glory of Opit Forest Reserve in Omoro District. The group walked through Opit Forest Reserve with legislators from the Natural Resources Committee as part of the activities leading up to tomorrow's regional parliamentary sittings in Gulu. However, the NFA reports struggling with a surge of illegal land titles on its property.
