UEDCL TAKEOVER :The way forward after taking over from UMEME
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (UEDCL) has pledged to bridge the gaps left by Umeme after the latter scaled-down investment in the utility two years before the end of its 20-year concession. UEDCL Managing Director Paul Mwesigwa confirmed to NTV that the company has secured over $50 million to invest in key electrical infrastructure for uninterrupted power supply. UEDCL officially took over from Umeme at midnight.
