Uganda Martyrs’ Day preparations peak at Namugongo
Preparations for this year’s Uganda Martyrs’ Day celebrations at Namugongo are in their final stages, with authorities leaving no stone unturned. The usually serene pilgrimage site is now a hive of activity as thousands of pilgrims continue to arrive from across the country and beyond. Business around the area is brisk. In addition, security has been placed at a maximum, with the Inspector General of Police and several senior army officers visiting Namugongo to reassure the public of their safety.
