Uganda Railways urged to boost cargo operations to reach sustainability

To remain sustainable, the Uganda Railways Corporation has no option but to scale up its cargo operations. Last year, the railway transported over 290,000 tonnes of cargo, generating 19 billion shillings in revenue. However, this falls far below the break-even threshold of one million tonnes annually.
