Ethiopia’s agriculture is characterized by diverse systems, with the dominant ones being mixed farming in the highlands and pastoralism in the lowlands. The mixed farming system integrates crop and livestock production, with a wide variety of crops grown and animals raised for both consumption and sale. Small-scale farmers play a crucial role, producing a large percentage of the country’s food crops.
