The Ministry of Agriculture says it has so far registered and mapped 1.5 million coffee farmers out of 2.8 million, as part of efforts to ensure Uganda’s coffee meets the EU’s deforestation-free compliance standards. Authorities aim to cover all 126 coffee-growing districts by October this year. However, some farmers say awareness is still low, blaming reduced sensitisation.
