As Uganda’s 2025-2026 political season kicks off, allegations of bribery are already rocking both major parties. From NRM primaries in July to ongoing candidate confirmations for the National Unity Platform, reports of money changing hands are widespread. At Kololo, some candidates accused rivals of buying support, while NUP members aiming for local government positions claim election officials demanded bribes to clear them as candidates. Policy analyst Job Kiija joins us to explain why corruption is becoming entrenched in Uganda’s politics.
