After years of impacting African societies through different fields, including agriculture, forestry and fisheries, health, and medicine, among others, the Japan International Cooperation Agency celebrated its 60th anniversary while raising hope among the youths in Katanga, a Kampala slum. Through the Katanga Kids Project, more than 50 kids are provided with shelter and care, along with nutritional support, after being neglected by their families. The Katanga Kids Project emphasizes community-based solutions to child welfare challenges and has previously benefited from family volunteer initiatives.
