Debate rises over effectiveness of Uganda’s Anti-Corruption fight

There is common agreement, at least among those outside the government, that the efforts engaged in the fight against corruption are bearing little fruit compared to the time and resources invested. Could the alternative to fighting corruption be to do nothing about it? Despite the failures, anti-corruption crusaders argue that the institutions should be strengthened; otherwise, the 10 trillion shillings estimated by the Inspectorate of Government to be lost annually would be just a drop in the sea.
