Gov’t asked to establish therapy centers in schools

As mental health issues among young people continue to rise, teachers have urged the government to establish dedicated mental health corners and safe spaces within schools to better address these challenges. Rehina Laboke, the Principal of Mt. of Olives College Kakiri, highlighted that many students are struggling with difficulties rooted in their family backgrounds, which often result in depression and trauma. Creating designated areas where students can freely express themselves and access counseling services could play a crucial role in reducing these mental health cases.
