Two Kenyan activists, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Ayoo, who disappeared in Uganda over a month ago, have been handed over to Kenyan authorities by Ugandan security. The duo was last seen on October 1 in Kaliro, where eyewitnesses reported masked men in uniform forcibly bundling them into a vehicle shortly after opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi’s presidential campaign launch. Now free, Njagi and Ayoo have told journalists they were detained by Uganda’s elite Special Forces Command (SFC) during their five-week disappearance.
