Joseph Kony defence team confirms case hearing in absentia

On September 9th, 2025 the International Criminal Court will hold a confirmation of charges hearing against fugitive warlord Joseph Kony in his absence. Kony, the elusive rebel leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army, has been on the run for nearly two decades since the International Criminal Court issued its first-ever arrest warrant against him. In Kampala, the ICC defense team addressed journalists, defending their decision to proceed with the case without their client.
