Kayunga District medical doctors accused of absenteeism, extortion

Government has interdicted four health workers in Kayunga District over alleged chronic absenteeism, prioritizing their private clinics over government duties, and extorting money from vulnerable patients seeking free public health care.
According to Kayunga’s Chief Administrative Officer, Maliki Mahabba, those interdicted include Dr.Daniel Kiyimba who was the In-charge of Bbaale Health Centre IV, Dr. Isaac Moses Nsereko, Dr.Hebert Wabigogobye, and Dr.John Wanda Mabinda, Last year, five nurses were interdicted for stealing government drugs from Bbaale Health Centre IV.
