Hundreds of mourners in Kenya blocked the road from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport this morning as they escorted the body of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who passed away in India yesterday.

The remains arrived in Nairobi earlier today and were taken to Lee Funeral Home, as preparations continue for a public viewing at Kasarani Stadium.

Odinga, a prominent opposition leader and iconic figure in Kenyan politics, is being mourned across the country and beyond.

Family sources told Reuters that he died while receiving medical treatment in Kochi, India, where the hospital confirmed he suffered a cardiac arrest.
