A technical team from Kampala Capital City Authority will tomorrow kick off an assessment survey for the cause and impact of the Friday flash floods in the city centre that left basements of several buildings submerged. Most traders in downtown Kampala, Uganda, have lost millions of shillings in merchandise after rainfall triggered flash floods last week. The traders who blame the recurring floods on the ongoing construction and development of shops on the Nakivubo Channel by businessman Hamis Kiggundu blame the government for not doing enough to secure clear water channels.
