By the financial year 2025/2026, Uganda will have a total of 150 districts. This follows a decision reached at State House, where NRM MPs agreed with the Head of State to create the new units. Among them are Mukunju, Mulanda, and Kisoko, carved out of Tororo, while Bughendera has been separated from Bundibugyo District.
