Companies warned on false ESG policies
Green financiers are seeing a rise in greenwashing mostly from financial institutions and agribusinesses in their Environmental Social Governance (ESG) compliance reports. Officials at ABI Trust, say that financial institutions must follow guidelines in the framework that safeguard lending institutions from all forms of false policies. Greenwashing has been witnessed in instances where companies report their ambitious ESG targets to gain credit in advance without subsequently working towards achieving these targets
