Low insurance penetration despite industry growth in Uganda
Uganda’s insurance industry may be registering trillions in gross written premiums, including an 11% growth in 2023, supported by strong figures in life insurance. However, penetration among financially excluded Ugandans remains low due to negative perceptions about related financial services. These comments were made by the Jubilee Health Insurance Chief Executive during the launch of new innovations in Kampala.
