Why women in East Africa lag behind in digital economy
East African Community Affairs Minister Rebecca Kadaga has expressed concern over the financial inclusion disparity between men and women in the EAC region, calling it a troubling statistic. She is urging policymakers to act urgently to address this issue. According to a World Bank Financial Inclusion report, there is a 9% global gender gap in access to formal bank accounts in East Africa.
