Leaders call for constitutional amendment to honour ex-mps
Political leaders are calling for a constitutional amendment to allow ex-MPs and senior citizens to be honored in Uganda’s Parliament. Currently, the Constitution limits tributes to serving MPs unless authorized by the President. Proscovia Musumba Salam presented the proposal during a West Nile Regional Council meeting honoring the late Margaret Baba Diri, who will be laid to rest this afternoon with Vice President Jesca Alupo as the chief mourner.
