300 cases in court for illegal Ugandan ID applications
The Spokesperson of Internal Affairs, Simon Mundeyi, has said there are over 300 cases in court involving individuals who hold identity cards from various countries but want to illegally acquire Ugandan identification documents like passports or masquerade as Ugandans. Some of them are refugees, and others are individuals from DR Congo, Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda, and Burundi, among other countries. Mundeyi says they have a watertight system at immigration that can detect illegal applications.
