Balaalo sue government over eviction from Northern Uganda
A group of 336 cattle keepers, commonly known as Balaalo, have filed a legal challenge against the Attorney General, contesting a government directive ordering their eviction from Northern Uganda without due process. The Balaalo argue that the eviction directive issued on June 17, 2025, by the 4th Infantry Division Commandant, Maj. General Felix Busizoori, and Police Commissioner Phillip Ocaya violates their constitutional rights, including the right to a fair hearing, freedom of movement, and the right to settle anywhere in Uganda.
