Chaos disrupts NRM LC I primaries again in Sagazi village
Once again, the NRM LC I primary elections in Sagazi village, Lwemiyaga County, have flopped after heavily deployed UPDF soldiers and NRM supporters armed with sticks caused chaos.
Sagazi is one of three villages—out of 133—that have failed to vote since Monday due to violence and beatings allegedly perpetrated by NRM supporters and soldiers in Lwemiyaga.
NRM district registrar George William Katokozi had directed the villages of Bugorogoro, Kireega, and Sagazi to conduct fresh elections. However, voting in Sagazi failed to take place once again.
Some NRM supporters staged a protest after their names were missing from the party register, and many also boycotted the elections.
