Defense challenges admissibility of evidence in Katanga murder trial
In the ongoing trial of five individuals accused of murdering businessman Henry Katanga in Mbuya, the defense lawyers have contested the admissibility of evidence presented by a police witness. Defense attorney Elison Karuhanga argued before Justice Isaac Muwata that the evidence, derived from phone and electronic device data, was unlawfully obtained by police witness Enock Kanene without a valid search warrant. Justice Muwata has instructed the prosecution to prepare a response to these claims by tomorrow.
