EAC council of ministers express discontent over further delay of regional monetary union
There is discontent among the Council of Ministers of the East African Community about the decision to further delay the implementation of the regional monetary union. They say the delayed implementation of the monetary union, which could lead to a single currency like before the collapse of the first community, has been pushed to 2031. As Jackson Onyango reports, the mood was one of bold and candid talk as ministers, technocrats, and development partners descended on the historic Arusha International Convention Centre in Tanzania.
