Foreign affairs officials want UGX 6 billion for the work
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is seeking a supplementary budget of 6 billion shillings to renovate Uganda House which was burnt during the June riots in Kenya. The building was burnt after the government had just spent 26.3 billion shillings on the renovation of the building before it was allegedly set ablaze by rioters in Kenya.MPs on the Foreign Affairs Committee are questioning why the building which was reportedly insured cannot renovated using the insurance policy. The Minister of Foreign Affairs JJ Odong today appeared before the committee of foreign affairs in parliament.
