Government to raise humanities teachers' pay in two months
To address the ongoing strike by humanities teachers over salary demands, the government has announced plans to raise their pay within two months, following negotiations with the teachers’ union. Minister of State for Public Service, Mary Grace Mugasa, told journalists in Kampala that, while the pay rise was originally scheduled for the 2024–2025 financial year, delays were caused by unforeseen factors, including pending salary enhancements from 2023.
