Health Ministry defers MPs’ trip to Lubowa hospital construction site
The Ministry of Health has asked parliamentarians on the Public Accounts Committee to defer its oversight trip to the International Specialised Hospital of Lubowa to a later date. The ministry, which was scheduled to host the legislators there, says the developer is not in a position to provide personal protective wear for over fifty people, scheduled to move with the committee. However, the committee chairperson Muwanga Kivumbi, wonders how a multibillion-shilling project fails to avail Personal Protective wear for less than 100 people. He insists that this was intended to prevent the MPs going to Lubowa, as has been the case in the past. As JUMA KIIRYA reports the MPs will wait for when the contractor is ready let them visit the construction site to establish how 286 billion shillings was spent.
