Henry Taremwa freed after spending six years on remand
After spending six years on remand without trial, Henry Taremwa is now free. Arrested as a minor but detained under the conditions of an adult, Taremwa’s lawyers say his constitutional rights were violated. Taremwa was among those accused of setting fire to a dormitory at St. Bernard’s Secondary School Manya in 2018 left ten students dead and more than 30 injured.
