Kizza Besigye appears before Buganda Road Court
Opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye appeared before Buganda Road Magistrates Court today to face charges of inciting violence related to a June 2022 incident. He, along with fellow politician Samuel Lubega Mukaaku, is accused of using a megaphone to address a crowd in Kampala while protesting against the rising commodity prices.The court session featured a tense cross-examination of prosecution witness Detective Stephen Oryema, who faced challenges under scrutiny as inconsistencies in witness reports were brought to light. Presiding Magistrate Winnie Nankya, granted an adjournment, with the case scheduled to resume on February 11, 2025.
