Makerere University introduces mindset course
For decades there have been calls for reforms to tertiary education many of them citing a so-called colonial hangover in public institutions of higher learning. Now, according to Vice Chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe, these concerns will be addressed by Makerere University through what has been termed as a mindset education course that shall be rolled out soon. The course will be taught to all students admitted to the university across all academic units on a modular basis. It will be examined and the results will be included on the academic transcripts as an audited course. Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe revealed this while announcing some proposed reforms that the university intends to undertake over the next few years.
