Makerere University launches sensitization project in Amuru
The Northern Region has made great strides towards recovery efforts from the effects of the over 20-year-old Lords Resistance Army insurgency. However, gender-based violence is on the rise, a grim trend that is forcing many children back to the streets. Now Makerere University through the Child Health Development Centre signed a two-year project dubbed Parenting for Respectability with Lamogi Sub County chiefs in Amuru district. Through the project, the Centre will train and skill parents, opinion leaders, and area leaders on good parenting and child upbringing in violence-free societies.
