New water project in Busia District set to empower women and girls
Without access to water, women and girls in rural areas cannot live up to their full potential in life. Walking long distances to fetch water or spending hours lining up at a well, borehole, or spring means they have little time to engage in productive work, care for the family, and go to school. However, a new water project in Busia District, now at the completion stage, is set to lift these burdens off the shoulders of women and girls, as GILLIAN NANTUME reports.
