NUP candidate’s nomination disrupted amid clashes
Tensions flared in Kawempe North today as National Unity Platform candidate, lawyer Erias Nalukoola Luyimbazi, faced significant disruptions during the nomination process, linked to the alleged abduction of his campaign manager. Despite last-minute efforts to secure his nomination, Nalukoola's subsequent march to address supporters at Mbogo Mosque grounds was violently interrupted by armed Joint Anti-Terrorism (JAT) forces, who clashed with his followers, resulting in widespread chaos and arrests.
