NUP mobilization in Rukungiri faces challenges
Fewer residents in Rukungiri Municipality joined the entourage of the National Unity Platform as the party held its mobilization tour in the former stronghold of the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change Party. The low turnout was registered despite the National Unity Platform Party being given leeway by the security forces to make rounds through the major streets. Earlier, in an interview with our reporter Jackson Onyango, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, revealed that the peaceful conduct of the security forces in Bushenyi was motivated by the ruling NRM Party's perception that the National Unity Platform Party lacks support in the region.
