Police ensure tight security as pilgrims arrive for Janani Luwum Day
Hundreds of foot pilgrims have arrived in Kitgum District for the 48th St. Janani Luwum Day commemoration on Sunday. Over 500 pilgrims from various regions, including Kampala, Gulu, Nwoya, and Pader, walked more than 150 kilometers to reach Kitgum. They spent the night at St. Janani Luwum Church in Kitgum Municipality before continuing to Mucwini, the birthplace and burial site of St. Janani Luwum. Police have ensured tight security throughout the pilgrimage, with no major incidents reported.
