Scholars encouraged on literacy culture
Headteachers of primary schools in Kampala have embarked on a handwriting campaign among learners in a bid to grow a reading culture amongst them. According to research by BIC Uganda, the handwriting of learners has a large bearing on how they also process and interact with information that they encounter in their daily life of learning. Launching the campaign at Kitante Primary School, it was also observed that the way learners write ultimately affects the results of their exams which is why it's now critical for them to learn how to write properly.
