Uganda tackles energy poverty with price subsidies for clean energy technologies
With a population of over 45 million people, despite an abundance of clean energy sources, the country is grappling with energy poverty, that is, limited access to modern energy services, including electricity, and significant barriers to reliable and affordable energy. To tackle this, the Ugandan government has embarked on a price subsidy program, where Ugandans will benefit from price discounts for eligible clean energy technologies.
