UNEB introduces new grading system for Uganda Certificate of Education
For years, schools celebrated top-performing students based on the number of learners scoring Division One under the old O-Level curriculum. However, with the release of this year’s Uganda Certificate of Education results, the Uganda National Examinations Board introduced a new grading system that moves away from the traditional division-based ranking. Instead of using grades from 1 to 9 (distinctions, credits, pass, and fail), candidates are now assessed based on achievement levels using letter grades A, B, C, D, and E, with A being exceptional.
