US envoy hails strategy that has helped over 3,000 patients to suppress virus
US Ambassador William Popp has praised private pharmacies for promoting the distribution of ARVs, improving the health of people living with HIV, and reducing stigma. Popp visited K-Frank Pharmacy, one of the 18 pharmacies dispensing ARVs in collaboration with TASO Uganda. Dr. Paul Kavuma from the Infectious Disease Institute said the initiative has allowed over 3,500 patients to access ARVs more conveniently.
