Gov't launches price subsidy for clean energy solutions
The government has launched a price subsidy program for those seeking to work with clean energies, with a working capital of about 400 billion shillings. According to Mr. Roy Nyamutale Baguma, the managing director of the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalization Company (UECCC), the prices of clean cooking solutions powered by solar, briquettes, ethanol, biogas, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas will be discounted by 30% to 50%. This, they say, will depend on the technology, among other factors. Betty Ndagire reports.
