NTV PANORAMA: Debt surges as COVID-19 pandemic ruins economy
On this day one year ago, the economic outlook of developing countries started to dampen as the embers of the COVID-19 spread rapidly and anxious governments imposed lockdowns. No one could possibly tell to what end! Today, countries are struggling to contain the pandemic with slow rollout of the vaccines and resuscitate the frail economies, while several including Uganda are shouldering a double burden of having to borrow here and there to fund key priorities.
