A section of NUP supporters who yesterday failed to secure party tickets to contest in next year’s local government elections have blamed party leaders for favoring people who have no support in their respective areas. They asked party leaders to re-scrutinize the selected candidates, warning that otherwise they will contest as independents in the 2026 elections. NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya says the party’s doors are open to address any complaints from those who are not satisfied.
