Some church leaders in Acholi have barred political aspirants from speaking to the congregation, a move aimed at upholding the church’s neutrality as the 2026 general election fever intensifies across the country. Many politicians seeking elective positions use the church to promote their manifestos or decampaign others during masses and church services. Some even offer money, although some church leaders say that receiving it is not a problem.
They emphasize that the church should maintain its political neutrality and urge church leaders to uphold their integrity.
