Local leaders in Busia are calling for a modern fire truck system and better equipment to handle emergencies at the Busia border. They say that every day, more than 200 fuel tankers pass through the border, yet the fire trucks stationed at the police station are over 15 years old, broken down, and unreliable. With the growing congestion of highly inflammable fuel and gas trucks, leaders warn that Busia is just one spark away from disaster.
